Professional Training:
PREPARING OUR FAMILIES
TO ADOPT THE OLDER CHILD FROM OVERSEAS

Boris Gindis Ph.D.
Chief Psychologist,
Center for Cognitive-Developmental Assessment and Remediation

Tatyana Gindis
Director, Post-Adoption Learning Center

This training session addresses academic, psychological and social issues families face when adopting an older child (over age 4). Explore how early foster care and institutional experiences affect a child’s cognitive and social interactions. Then, learn how to assist families in pre-adoption preparation and post-adoption advocacy to enhance their child and family’s adjustment, and increase the child’s learning and social capacities.
